the means of production
Well, so this is how the pros do things. They FedEx you back your manuscript with a very nice cover letter, and show you all the changes they've proposed to fit with the house style, and their ideas for changing words and moving sentences here and therebut it's all negotiable, just have to get it ironed out in the next week so they can have me proofread the galleys (galleys!) in early May. And then it hits the newsstands in the summer. Or that upstairs shelf at Prairie Lights, anyway. Good old Prairie Lights Bookstore; I miss you.
