I AM THE LAST MAN IN IOWA. I WALK THROUGH THE HYVEE UNIMPEDED AND TAKE WHAT I PLEASE FROM THE ORGANIC SECTION. I AM A FRIEND TO BIRDS AND BEASTS. THE LANDSCAPE CEASES TO EXIST WHEN I CEASE TO LOOK AT IT. AT NIGHT I AM THE ONLY SOURCE OF LIGHT. SATELLITES CAN PINPOINT MY LOCATION. I AM FERTILIZING THE CORNFIELDS WITH PAPERWORK TAKEN FROM THE GRADUATE COLLEGE. I PLAN TO ESTABLISH A HOSPITAL FOR DEER IN THE PENTACREST. IN FIFTY YEARS THE FOREST WILL HAVE RECLAIMED THE EARTH AND WASPS WILL BUILD THEIR NESTS IN THE PEDESTRIAN MALL. THE YOUNGEST AND HEALTHIEST OF IOWA'S WOMEN PURSUE ME THROUGH THE STREETS, DESPERATELY SEEKING MY AID IN REPRODUCTION, BUT I WILL NOT ASSIST THEM BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT BE ETHICAL TO BRING CHILDREN INTO SUCH A WORLD. THIS IS THANKLESS WORK.
